Housing Advice Birchwood supports homeless or vulnerably housed people and families in our local communities. For the past 40 years, Birchwood have been a lifeline for people experiencing homelessness or disadvantage in West Lancashire. Our mission is to support people in their time of crisis before they become homeless, as well as supporting those experiencing homelessness in securing and maintaining accommodation and integration into the local community. Our dedicated Support Workers, who are just a phone call away, offer specialist tenancy support and can give expert advice on the following: · Homelessness · Private renting · Eviction · Tenancy deposits · Repairs · Benefits and money problems · Council housing · Mortgage repossession Our customers accessing our service are dealing with complex issues such as unemployment, financial pressure, substance addiction and physical or mental health concerns, due to pre-existing conditions or a response to their current circumstances. We aim to empower our customers to secure & maintain accommodation whilst addressing the root causes of their homelessness. In addition, Birchwood offers a bespoke programme of one-to-one support for each of our customers, encompassing a wraparound service of counselling, meditation, and therapeutic yoga, with a unique pathway into volunteering via our social enterprises.
